Feast of the Ascension

The Feast of the Ascension, celebrated forty days after Easter, is a joyful moment in the Church year when we remember Jesus returning to heaven. After His resurrection, Jesus spent time with His friends, teaching them, comforting them, and preparing them for the mission ahead. On Ascension Day, He blessed them and was lifted into the clouds, promising that He would always be with them and that the Holy Spirit would come to guide them.

For our students, this feast is a beautiful reminder that Jesus’ love doesn’t end, it continues in the way we treat one another. Ascension Day encourages us to look “upward” with hope and “outward” with kindness. It invites children to think about how they can share joy, help others, and bring light into their school and home life.

As a school community, we celebrate this feast by remembering that we are called to be people of love, courage and compassion, just as Jesus taught His first followers.

Mary Help of Christians

You are warmly invited to our Whole School Mass on Monday, 25 May, in honour of Mary Help of Christians. We look forward to celebrating together as a school community.

Mary Help of Christians holds a special place in the Church as a mother who guides, protects, and intercedes for us. As the Patroness of Australia, she has long been a source of strength and courage for Catholics, especially in challenging times. Her feast invites us to reflect on her deep faith and her desire to lead us closer to Jesus.

As we honour Mary Help of Christians, we are reminded to seek her guidance, ask for her protection over our families and communities, and follow her example of compassion, humility, and unwavering faith. We also hope all mothers, grandmothers, and mother figures in our community enjoyed a joyful and special Mother’s Day.
