Picnic @ Pauls Cancellation

After much preparation and excitement, our weather system decided to celebrate our Picnic at Pauls event by equaling the record highest November temperature on record! We were disappointed to have to cancel our picnic last Friday, however, have begun to plan some other ways to celebrate our anniversary through our end of year events. We will share more with you in coming days.

Barton Reserve Update

As you know, we regularly use Barton Reserve as our play area. We work closely with Port Adelaide Enfield Council to ensure safety and tidiness of the park for our use. Recently the PAE Council has decided to open the toilets on the park regularly for public use. This is fabulous news for families who like to use the park for an extended time after school hours and on weekends. With this comes some additional safety considerations for play times during the day, as the bbq area is likely to be used more often by the public. Our staff members check the park each morning at the beginning of the school day, as well as before morning and afternoon break times. This will now include a more specific check around the toilet area just to be sure there are no dangerous items such as broken glass. The toilet area on the park will remain an out of bounds area for children during the school day. They will use the toilets inside the school building and grounds.

Illness Reminders

We currently have some infectious illnesses to be mindful of in the school and wider community. There are currently high numbers of COVID-19 and gastroenteritis, which can be spread quite quickly. With children in our school with compromised immune systems, we need to continue to ask that children stay home when they are unwell, and remain home until they are no longer contagious. There are different guidelines for infectious diseases at www.health.gov.au, and you can also speak with your GP for advice. We often email fact sheets from the health department to families when we share information about infectious diseases. The main message is to please keep your child home when they are unwell until they are well again.
