Deputy Principal's Message

We are looking forward to sharing the creative work of our students at our Creative Arts Showcase this Wednesday evening, the first of many end-of-year events being held before the end of term. We hope to see you there!

Step-up day

On Monday 11 December, students will participate in a 'step-up' day. The aim of the day is to support students who are moving into a new stage in 2024 to transition to their new classes. It will also be a good opportunity for those who are moving into the later part of their stage to meet the students who will be joining them in their new stage.

Students in Kindergarten will spend time in the Stage 1 classes with the Stage 1 teachers and Year 1 students. Year 2 students will move to the Stage 2 rooms and work with the Year 3 students and Stage 2 teachers. Year 4 students will spend the day upstairs in the Stage 3 area with the teachers and Year 5 students. Year 6 students will participate in a range of activities, facilitated by the current Kindergarten and RFF teachers.

Students will be engaged in team building and collaborative activities as well as participate in a range of experiences to help the students become familiar with their 2024 stage group and surroundings. Student groupings for the step-up day are not indicative of specific 2024 class placements, but will enable students to have the opportunity to experience their new stage. It can be an exciting yet daunting experience when moving to a new stage and/or class, particularly when it involves moving to a new area of the school.

Our step-up day aims to alleviate any concerns students may have and help set up the students for a successful first day in 2024 with their new teacher and classmates.

Wonder Recycling Rewards

Last week, we received new sporting equipment earned through our participation in the Wonder Recycling Rewards program. We earned the maximum amount of rewards that were available to be received and purchased new skipping ropes and tennis balls for the students to use in the playground. This was due to the huge effort from students and families who collected and recycled bread bags through the school. Thank you to all those who participated. Your efforts are very much appreciated!
