SWIMMING 2023

Dear Parents,

Our swimming program will again be held at the Geelong College Pool from Monday 4th December to Friday 15th of December. All students from Prep to grade 6 will participate. Students will attend 5 sessions with each session going for 45 minutes.  Preps sessions will be for 40 minutes. Half the school will go during the first week and the others during the second week. The children will walk to and from the pool each day, weather permitting. Students will be swimming at the pool at the following times: 

Week 1 Monday 4th December to 8th December

9.15am to 10.05am     Grade 6MC & 6MG  10.05am to 10.55am      Grade 4KJ &4JS

11.10am to 11.50am      Prep MA & Prep BH11.10am to  12.00pm     Grade 5SJ

12.00pm to 12.40pm      Prep BR & Prep BH12.00pm to 12.50pm      Grade 5JS

12.50pm to 1.40pm       Grade 6MW and Grade 3SW

Week 2 Monday 11th December to 15th December (note Friday 15th December swimming will start at 11.30 am to 2.25 pm)

9.15am to 10.05am     Grade 2

10.05am to 10.55am    Grade 3CE

11.10am to  12.00pm    Grade 3JO

12.00pm to 12.50pm    Grade 1HS & 1RP12.50pm to 1.40pm      Grade 1EA & 1RP

All students must wear a swimming cap and have their own goggles. Parents are responsible for providing a swimming cap for their child/ren. We will be using qualified instructors who will work through the levels set out in the Royal Life Saving Society's Swim and Survive Booklet.   Where a parent is concerned about a child's attendance, contact should be made with the Principal before the Program begins.Due to the close proximity of the pool, we will be walking to the pool each day. However, if the weather is inclement, buses will be used and you will be informed of any additional cost.

As this swimming program is a whole school activity, there will be a number of changes to the Specialist timetable and recess times for some grades over this period.

Please provide permission and payment by Wednesday, November 29th.
