PRINCIPAL UPDATE

Swimming commenced this week, and we are very thankful for Jeff Smith and his efforts in the coordination of this.  A big thank you also to parent volunteers that are supporting in the supervision.

As Jeff is retiring at the conclusion of the school year, this is his last mammoth effort of organising this event.

Parents will be informed of their child’s class teacher next Friday the 15th of December.  Please note parent requests were asked to be in by November the 7th and we are no longer accepting these.

Developing class lists is a complex task and we appreciate staff time and effort going into this.  While we attempt to accommodate a multitude of factors into the formation of these classes, all requests cannot be met, and we thank you in advance for you consideration and understanding of this.

We look forward to seeing as many volunteers as possible at our afternoon tea next Monday, December 11th at 2:50pm.  If you have not already been able to RSVP for this event, please do so, to ensure we have the required catering.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the School Council members for this year.  We have appreciated your support throughout the year, and in particular outgoing members Nicky Muxworthy and Jo Cook who along with their children, are finishing up at Chilwell.  Other members will be finishing up at the commencement of 2024, but I will thank them in the new year.

We are very excited for our Grade 6 students who will be graduating next Wednesday evening at the Geelong West Town Hall.  I along with the staff of Chilwell wish every student a fabulous end to their time here, and every success in the years to come.  Thank you to all for being such valued members of our school community.

Final assembly will be at 12:45pm on Wednesday December 20th, with students being dismissed at 1:30pm.

Kind regards,

Meg
