Eucalyptus House

Wow! What a year it has been. There is so much to be proud of and celebrate as a House and learning community.

Students began 2023 with a spring in their step and this led to an exciting and busy year full of events we can look back on with fond memories. Of these events, Swimming and Athletics stand out as well as this year’s Chorales competition and the drama and dance performances our students have participated in, including a range of camps. We would like to highlight the 13Yr Male Athletics Champion, Yousuf H, and the 14Yr Male Champion, Sevdim B - an incredible effort! Well done.

A special moment in particular for our House was when we won the House Chorales Competition. Students sang ‘Can’t Stop the Feeling’ by Justin Timberlake and their performance was exceptional. We can’t wait to see what our students can do in 2024!

This year we also watched our student leaders demonstrate their leadership skills and promote active participation in the House. It has been a pleasure to work with these student leaders who have represented Eucalyptus with pride. Throughout 2023, they arranged a number of House activities which built a greater sense of belonging and joy. Together, we ran a table tennis tournament, raising money for ‘Backpacks 4 VIC Kids’ and the SRC leaders facilitated a fun and engaging quiz to get us ready for Cultural Week which was held at the end of Term 3. A massive thank you to our student leaders for leading this work. We wish them the very best in their future endeavours: School Captain - Madina M (E12), House Leaders - Asra H and Olia S (E12), and Student Representative Council members - Mursal H (E7), Hassan A (E8), Eleanor H (E9), Banin A (E10), Andy N (E11) and Zahra S (E12).

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank and congratulate the staff who work tirelessly to support and encourage all students with their learning. It has been a pleasure to both staff and students working alongside one another to achieve their very best. A big thank you must go to each staff member of Eucalyptus House: Mrs Barton, Ms Shen, Ms Mackay, Mr Zhang, Mr Kafrouni, Mr Herd, Ms Curnow, Ms Nguyen, Ms Sparks, Mrs Sreedharan, Ms Di Mascolo,  Mr Gulzari, Mr Christoffelsz, Ms Farahani, Ms Sellenger, Mr Collins, and Mr Singh.

Finally, we would like to thank the parent community for their continued support of the school and their child. We wish you all a safe and enjoyable holiday period and look forward to a promising 2024.
