Callistemon House

Year after year the students in Callistemon House continue to impress me. 

This year, my 6th in the House, was no exception. Our House focus for 2023 was on the key values of respect and kindness. I want to congratulate the vast majority of students that strived to ensure these values were lived, and visible to others, on a daily basis. Our Callistemon Stars wall highlights the positive impact our students have had on each other and our learning community. It was great to see so many staff acknowledging and highlighting the positive achievements of our students throughout the year. I would like to thank the Student Services Team, particularly Namrata, for their ongoing support of our students as we strived to build an even more respectful and kind community. We will continue to build on this work into 2024.

Our student leadership team have done outstanding work this year in providing our community with a voice, supporting both our students and the House Leadership Team. Part of the reason Callistemon is such an enjoyable place to be is due to the ongoing work our student leaders do. Thank you to our Student Representative Council members: Denis E, Thanesha J, Ethrath R, Raei A, Phoenix S and Bahara S. The team was led by one of our school's SRC presidents, Anahita J. You should all be very proud of what you achieved this year including finishing second in the Student Services Shield and raising a significant amount of funds for the Malala Foundation, our 2023 House Charity.

Thank you to our 2023 House Captains, Samrin M and Muhammad T, for being exceptional role models and leading our community. Muhammad was outstanding at the House Athletic and Swimming events coordinating our competitors and giving us the best chance for success. Whilst we took a break from winning these in 2023, we are looking to bounce back in 2024!  

I would like to take this opportunity to thank and praise the work of our Callistemon staff: Ms Faizo, Ms Grace, Ms Hickman, Mr Joseph, Mr Katsoulis, Ms Muthukuda, Ms Nannegari, Mr Nguyen, Ms Niresh, Mr Regazzoli, Ms Rodriques, Mr Sotirakis, Mr White and Ms Whitlow. It is a pleasure working alongside such dedicated professionals who go above and beyond to support our students. A special mention to the outstanding House Leadership Team members: Ms Vrondou, Ms Sherry, Mr Guterman and Ms Thomas. Callistemon is a safe, connected and positive learning environment in great part to the hard work of these amazing people.

I wish all families, students and staff a safe and restful holiday break and look forward to what 2024 will bring to this amazing community.
