Grevillea House
I wanted to start by thanking each and every member of Grevillea House, staff and students, as this will be my final address. As I farewell the House and Dandenong High School, I am very grateful for the wonderful people that make up the purple House.
This year, a standout moment was the fantastic achievement of our choir. While small, they sounded amazing and brought in second place, a testament to their dedication and hard work. We are so proud of them!!
A much calmer year, bringing the focus back to learning, we have paid particular attention to engagement in learning and have worked with students and teachers to support this. We have seen our Year 8s grow and change and they bring such a sense of cheeky fun to the House. The Year 9s have worked hard throughout the year and we look forward to seeing them progress into the Senior School. Our new Year 7s have been a lovely fresh group, many are very keen to learn and focus and have been a lovely addition to the House. Many of them enjoyed their camp earlier in the year, showing courage and bravery attempting the activities, and having an incredible time as well!
Our Year 10s have been exploring subjects for next year and have made choices to support them in the years to come. We are so proud of the Year 11s who have predominantly been very focused on preparing themselves in the best way possible for Year 12. The Year 12s are progressing through their exams and we congratulate them on the way they have made their way through the year. We thank the Year 12 leaders for their contribution to the House and the School.
Finally, to Grevillea staff, an outstanding group who make Grevillea a wonderful place to be. They really go above and beyond and are such a wonderful group of people!
And so, I say farewell and thank you to all Grevilleans, I wish the Year 12s well as they take their next steps into the future, and to everyone else, my very best wishes for 2024 and beyond.
