Debating
Last term in debating, St Xavier’s had two teams that participated in Round 1 of the Armidale Diocese Debating competition. The topic was that we should ban all zoos now. Both teams had to research the topic, form arguments and then deliver a persuasive 3-4 minute speech convincing the adjudicator of their arguments. Both teams did extremely well considering this was their first ever debate and whilst both teams lost, they learnt some valuable life skills through this learning experience.
