Principal's Message

Positive Partnerships-Strong Teams-Calm Classrooms

Dear parents and carers,

Thank you for the support you give to your children and to us as we work together to provide the best possible learning experience for every student. Most of our students have had the best start to the term due to having a good understanding of routines, expectations and what it takes to be an engaged learner.

Last term I spent four weeks travelling around the Diocese supporting principals in five other schools. It was a great learning experience for me and confirmed my deep appreciation and love for the students and staff of St Xavier’s Gunnedah!

Our school is somewhat unique in the way we operate. Our model of authentic differentiation allows us to work with small groups and individuals every day. The support of our expert leadership team for students needing periods of specific attention makes a difference.

Sometimes people comment or ask questions about class sizes at St Xavier’s and the impact on a child’s learning. Once explained and given the opportunity to see our rooms in action people see how positive the model is. Our commitment to working as teams means no child misses out on the support they need. The density of skilled adults ensures all children are supported to learn and grow.

If your child is finding school difficult in any way the best thing you can do is speak to the teachers or myself. We, like you, want only the best for every student. Positive communication is key to this. No question or comment is ever not important to us. I urge any families who have any concerns about anything at school to come and see me. Let’s work together to help your child be the best version of themselves possible.

Kind regards,

Jen
