Child Safeguarding

At St Joseph's, we are committed to creating and maintaining a safe environment for children and young people, adhering to the Child Safe Standards and relevant legislation.

There are 11 Child Safe Standards - we will explore each one and how St Joseph's addresses the standards.

Standard 4 - Family Engagement

Standard 4 of the Victorian Child Safe Standards focuses on family and community engagement in promoting child safety and wellbeing. It requires organizations to actively involve families and communities in decisions affecting children and to maintain open communication about their child safety practices.

Ways St Joseph's achieves this standard:

  • Policies
  • Behaviour Frameworks
  • Code of Conduct for all (staff, students and families)
  • Risk Registers
  • Community Events
  • Digital Literacy and Safety information sessions
  • Wellbeing initiatives
  • Assembly
  • Learning conversations & PSG meetings
