From the Leadership Team

Welcome Back
We are back with another exciting term ahead. We welcome over 20 international students to our school this term, who will be with us for a few weeks to develop friendships, experience school in another country and learn something new. It is a wonderful opportunity for our local students to expand their world-view and horizons, and we encourage them all to be curious and welcoming to their new classmates, taking the chance to learn from them.
We started off at a canter this week, with parent-teacher-student conferences taking place this week. It was great to hear from teachers the positive and productive conversations and the wonderful job that students did in sharing and reflecting on their learning. It has been a goal of ours in recent years to try and support students to understand better how their learning is progressing and what their strengths and areas for improvement are. We know that when people understand closely what their strengths are and what is required to improve, they are more optimistic and hopeful about success, helping them to remain motivated as they work towards that improvement.
Often, it can be overwhelming to figure out what comes next, so as parents and teachers it is important that we help children break their next steps into small, achievable chunks that they can work towards.
This is the focus of the reporting and interview cycle and will hopefully set up our students for success in the coming months.
