Prep Learning Reflection

This term we've begun focusing on non-fiction texts in Literacy. We've been reading a variety of information books, learning about the features of non-fiction texts and the students have loved all the facts we've learnt along the way!

We've been learning how to write fact statements and have been practicing by writing facts that we recall from the books we read together in class.

In phonics, we've now learnt all of the initial sounds and are working on blending words that have two consonants side by side like in 'ant', 'end', 'best' and 'wind'.

In Numeracy, we've been counting by 10s, counting on from double digit numbers and learning how to use this in addition problems. We've also been learning about capacity and comparing the sizes of containers, and have also been comparing the area of 2D shapes.

For our Unit of Work topic: Safety Safari, we've read some wonderful stories and explored how we keep ourselves healthy and safe and who else in our lives and community also help us keep healthy and safe.

Thank you again for your time at Parent Teacher Interviews, it was great being able to connect, share and collaborate with you all to help your children continue to grow and shine!

Today marked the 100th day of Prep and the celebration was amazing! Thank you for your efforts helping the students to collect their 100 'things' and for their incredible costumes! We had an incredible day reading, writing and counting with the number 100 and had so much fun pretending to be 100!
