1RA

The students in 1RA thoroughly enjoy their art lessons and always approach each activity with excitement and curiosity. They have loved exploring a variety of techniques and working with different media, including paint, watercolour, oil pastels, collage, and sketching. Each new project gives them the chance to experiment and express themselves in creative ways. Their individuality shines through in every piece, and it has been wonderful to see their creative flair grow and flourish throughout the year.
Sea life Art
As part of their creative journey, 1RA dived into an "Under the Sea" theme, creating bold and imaginative pieces inspired by marine life and underwater scenes. Their artworks captured the colours, movement, and mystery of the ocean, reflecting both their creativity and growing artistic skills.
Penguin Directed Drawing
The students in 1RA did a fantastic job following a directed drawing lesson to create detailed and expressive illustrations of penguins. Step by step, they carefully listened, observed, and applied what they learned, showing great focus and enthusiasm throughout the process. Each drawing was unique, reflecting their individual creativity while still demonstrating strong attention to detail. The final artworks were full of character and charm—a wonderful example of their growing confidence and skill in drawing.
Australian Animal Collage
The students in 1RA used traditional Aboriginal colours to create striking collage backgrounds for their Australian animal artworks. They carefully refined their fine motor skills to arrange small pieces with precision, resulting in intricate and textured designs. The warm, earthy tones of the background beautifully contrast with the black and white animal images in the foreground, creating a visually powerful and meaningful final piece.
Uluru Landmark
To complement their Geography unit on Australian People and Places, 1RA created stunning mixed media artworks inspired by Uluru. Combining sketching, oil pastel blending, watercolour, and their own creative interpretations, each student produced a unique and expressive piece. The results beautifully reflect both their developing art skills and their understanding of this iconic Australian landmark—and the students are incredibly proud of their work.
