Dear Families,
As we head into the final week of Term 3, I would like to take a moment to reflect on the wonderful moments we have shared together as a school community recently.
Firstly, congratulations to all of our students for their outstanding performances at Tuesday afternoon's Dance Showcase. It was wonderful to see our basketball courts transformed into a vibrant outdoor stage, filled with music, movement and smiling faces. Every class performed with enthusiasm, confidence and pride, creating a joyful celebration of learning and creativity. On the Catholic Calendar, we are in the Season of Creation, a time we give thanks to God for the great gift of creation. Yesterday, while watching our children perform, on a beautiful sunny afternoon, set on our unique and vast natural grounds, I was struck with wonder and awe in the sacredness of each child, each family member who attended, each staff member who supported and this beautiful setting where we form our school. It was a magic afternoon!
A very special thank you goes to our wonderful Performing Arts Specialist Teacher, Christy Spottiswood, whose vision, creativity and countless hours of planning brought this fantastic event to life. Christy's passion for the arts and commitment to providing meaningful performance opportunities for our students shone through in every aspect of the showcase.
Thank you also to our dedicated staff for supporting our students throughout their preparations, and to all of our parents, grandparents, family members and friends who came along to witness this special event. Your encouragement and support created a wonderful atmosphere and made the afternoon a memorable celebration of our school community.
Last Thursday we enjoyed a beautiful morning celebrating the important men and father figures in the lives of our students at our Father's Day Breakfast and Prayer Service. It was wonderful to welcome dads, grandads, uncles, brothers and all those who came to share in this special occasion. Thank you to everyone who attended and helped create such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Celebrating together as a faith community is something we truly value, and we hope everyone left feeling appreciated and blessed.
The countdown to the end of Term 3 is on! Our final day of term will be Footy Day, and we look forward to seeing plenty of colour around the school. Students are invited to dress in the colours of their favourite team. While many may choose an AFL club, we recognise that not everyone follows Australian Rules Football, so students are very welcome to wear the colours of another sporting team, such as soccer, netball, basketball or any other sport they enjoy.
As part of the day, students will be able to purchase a hotdog for lunch, courtesy of our Parents and Friends who run this P&F fundraiser. Please remember to pack your child's regular lunch as well, as the hotdog is simply a token food item and may not be enough to satisfy their growing appetites.
Looking ahead to Term 4, I am pleased to share that Wendy Fall will be returning from Long Service Leave. Wendy will resume her leadership responsibilities alongside some classroom teaching. I would like to sincerely thank Natalie Owens for her dedication, wisdom and outstanding leadership as Second in Charge during Wendy's absence. Natalie's calm guidance and commitment have been greatly appreciated by staff, students and families alike.
I would also like to extend my sincere thanks to Bree Daniel for her exceptional work leading Wellbeing and Mental Health in Schools while also supporting the broader leadership of our school. Bree's care for our students and staff has been invaluable throughout the term.
In Term 4, Natalie and Bree will return to their previous leadership and classroom responsibilities, and we warmly welcome Maddison Taylor back to Foundation, where she will officially return to teaching three days each week.
Finally, tomorrow we acknowledge R U OK? Day, an important reminder of the power of a simple conversation. Taking the time to genuinely ask someone, "Are you OK?" can make a meaningful difference. As a school community, we strive to care for one another with compassion, kindness and respect. Please know that my office door is always open. If you would like to talk, share a concern, or simply have a chat, you are always most welcome.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support throughout another wonderful term. I wish all of our families a fantastic final stretch of Term 3 and look forward to celebrating a fun Footy Day together before the holidays.
