Term 3 Week 9

Well, here we are at the end of another week and there is a definite hint of spring in the air. Week 9 of Term 3 has seen the FHS at it again with a range of activities and events but the absolute highlight was our music concert Live @ Wurun which once again was a reminder of the incredible talent that we have across both Collingwood College and Fitzroy High School. Thank you to all the parents and family members that came along to support our musicians, these opportunities to apply our learning are really what it is all about.

Talking about learning, this week we also had our Three Way Conferences, as I said in my compass post, it was great to see so many of our families here on site making connections with our teaching staff. The partnership between the school and our families is such an important part of the work we do with the young people in our care and we really appreciate parents and carers who are able to participate in these events.

This week we also held our first official event for our 2027 Year 7 cohort with our online webinar for subject selection, it was fantastic to connect with some of our new families online and have them be so excited about joining our community and picking from our new subjects.

Looking ahead to next week

Sunday 13th: Collingwood College are holding their annual Swing into Spring event on Sunday afternoon. If you are looking for something to do on Sunday head on over and check it out.

Tuesday 15th: Second session with students on their 2027 Subject selections. Selections are due by Thursday next week so we can start building the 2027 timetable.

VCE Legal and Politics camp leave on Tuesday heading to our nations capital to check out all things legal and political. Have a great trip everyone.

Thursday 17th: Year 7 sport teams are heading out to compete in either Ultimate Frisbee or Table Tennis. Have a great time Year 7s.

Friday 18th: Year 8 Big Day Out #2 - Year 8 students are heading to IMAX on the last day of the term to watch a movie on the big screen. Make sure you get your consent and payment in on time. Friday is also the last day of term so we have an early finish, students will be dismissed after our end of term assembly at the beginning of lunchtime.
