Our Seniors will be sharing a recipe with you, that they use in their cafe, so that you can recreate it at home!

Cinnamon Teacake

Ingredients

60g butter, softened

2/3 cup (150g) caster sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 egg

1 cup (150g) self-raising flour

1/3 cup (80ml) Milk

10g butter, melted

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 tablespoon caster sugar

 

 

Method

  1.  Preheat oven 180 C. Grease a deep 20cm round cake pan; line base with baking paper.
  2. Beat butter, sugar, extract and egg in a small bowl with an electric mixer until light and fluffy.  Stir in sifted flour and milk until smooth.  Spread mixture into pan.
  3. Bake cake about 30 minutes.  Turn cake, top-side up, onto a wire rack.  Brush top of hot cake with melted butter; sprinkle with combined cinnamon and extra sugar while hot.

Serving suggestion: Serve warm with butter
