Year 4 5 and 6 have been investigating mosaics with an environmental theme to explore how the artist has used colour and shape to make a pattern.  They have begun planning their own mosaic to demonstrate their understanding of how they could make patterns with colour and shape.

Seren and Rory have completed their research for their chosen mosaic.  Through peer evaluation, the boys have improved their knowledge of how the artist has used colour and shape to make patterns.

Logan chose to research a panda mosaic.

Year 7 and 8 have also been investigating artists who use colour and shape to make a pattern, but these artists use natural materials to make their sculptures.  We will begin planning our own natural sculptures using our research as inspiration.

Hailee and Christian chose an artist Anna Cross who makes sculptures out of willow.

Year 9 and 10 are focused on upcycling materials to make environmental sculptures.  They have researched artists who have used colour and shape to make patterns to gain ideas for their own.

Carlton and Cooper chose an artist called Ben Von Wong. He makes a statement about the amount of plastic that is in our oceans.  Both young men have done an excellent job of looking for colours, shapes and patterns within these works.
