Principal's Report

Dear Rockhampton North family,

I hope you're all doing well and are enjoying the lovely sunny weather.

Regional School Sport

Five of our students participated in the recent Capricornia School Sport Track and Field events at Mackay last week. Congratulations to Phoenix, Montell, Dylan, Logan K and Mikayla who showed immense courage, skill, and sportsmanship throughout their events. They've all been selected to join the Capricornia Regional Team and have the opportunity to go to the State Championships in Brisbane in October!!! Participating in sporting events build invaluable experiences and lessons in teamwork, respect, and resilience. We are proud of you and wish you all of the best at the State Championships.

Book Week

What a big morning celebration of books and reading! Students brought stories to life with their incredible costumes. From superheroes to classic literary figures, our school looked like a walking library! The creativity was off the charts, and the smiles? Well, they were even bigger. A huge shoutout to parents and teachers for helping our students get into character. These moments don't just celebrate books; they create memories that last a lifetime. I was in Melbourne attending the EduTech Conference last week and saw the vibrant and amazing photos on our Facebook Page. I was blown away by the effort and excitement that Book Week dress up created.  Thank you to all the families who attended, we're already excited for next year!

Education Support Staff

A massive shoutout to our incredible Educational Support Staff. You play a pivotal role in our students' wellbeing. Your passion and dedication go beyond the classroom to ensure every student feels valued and supported. From lending a listening ear to understanding how they can achieve the best results for every student and always with a smile. Thank you for your caring attitude that makes our school a home away from home. So here's a big THANK YOU for all the love and hard work you put in every single day. You guys rock!

Science Week

Science Week 2023 was a complete blast and thank you to Krystle, our Science teacher, who put together an amazing week filled with everything Science. Our secondary classes went the extra mile by linking their activities to real-world STEM professionals. They watched videos about these incredible women in STEM, tackled comprehension activities, and even had STEM-focused colouring sessions. These budding scientists then added their discoveries to our "Future ME" walls. Our Primary classes dived into digital books and performed fun experiments tied to the stories. All of our students joined in on some of the most exciting experiments like "The Runaway Iceberg," "Back to Earth," and even some rocket launches! Photos of these amazing activities will soon feature in our future industries displays.

Prep Orientation Day

Our schools’ Prep Orientation Day is right around the corner and will be held in our Prep Rooms next week Friday, the 8th of September, from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. We are very excited to welcome our future prep families to the Rockhampton North family. What an incredible few weeks it's been at Rockhampton North! From our athletes smashing it at the Regional Sport events to our school turning into a real-life storybook for Book Week. Our students have shown extraordinary courage, creativity, and passion. Our Educational Support Staff and amazing teachers have been the backbone in ensuring our students feel valued and inspired. With Prep Orientation Day just around the corner, we're excited to grow our school community even more. Stay tuned for more exciting updates, and as always, go Rockhampton North!
