SACE Drama

Daniel Lynch, Drama Teacher

On Thursday 7 September, the SACE Drama class performed four new self-devised works to an audience of friends, family and staff. Students have grappled with the challenges of verbatim theatre, a style of performance in which real-life interviews and research are gathered to create the text of a dramatic work. Coupled with this, they employed theatre company Frantic Assembly's highly physical devising method.

Over 11 weeks, these companies have built fresh and energetic new work completely from their imaginations and independently formed every single theatrical role - research, scriptwriting, characterisation, lighting, set, sound and costume. The result was a compelling series of plays that explored the nature of humanity.

Congratulations to the companies!
