Book Week 2023
Book Week 2023
Each year since 1945 the Children's Book Council of Australia has brought children and books together to celebrate books through Children's Book Week. During this
time schools and libraries celebrate books and Australian authors and illustrators.
This year's theme is Read, Grow, Inspire.
Along with the many and varied Book Week activities that we will do, this year we will celebrate with a Book Week Parade on Wednesday 23rd August 9:00 am.
On this day children are invited to come dressed as their favourite book character or as a character matching the theme. If your child's costume is not suitable to wear all day please send along some other clothes and shoes they can change into after the parade.
A few ideas for Book Week costumes:
- Mythical creatures
- Harry Potter characters
- Fairy tales or nursery rhymes
- Pirates
- Alice in Wonderland
- Wizard of Oz
- Dr Seuss stories
- Roald Dahl characters
Book Week Performance
On Monday 28th August, Meerkat Productions will visit Corpus Christi at 2:00 pm to entertain us all with a performance based on one of the shortlisted picture books, Frank's Red Hat.
Happy reading!
