Book Week

Book Week has begun!

We are very excited to be celebrating great Australian literature and the talented authors and illustrators who create the books we love to read.

There are lots of different activities and events happening across the school this week, including our Book Week Dress Up Day and Parade on Wednesday 23rd August at 9am. All students are invited to dress as their favourite book character and their will be an opportunity for buddy classes to parade together. The parade is planned for the basketball courts (fingers crossed for fine weather!) and families are welcome to join us. We hope to see you there!

Some of our Year 6 Leadership Team and Wellbeing Team leaders are excited to be visiting Aspendale North Kinder on Wednesday, to read stories to the younger children. This event was a great success last year and it is wonderful that this community partnership is becoming a tradition.

A forest has sprung up in the St Louis' library and it is a beautiful place to READ, GROW and be inspired this year. There are also lots of different animals to SPOT around the library, so grab your SPOT IT sheet and see how many you can find.   Check it out when you visit the St Louis Book Fair this week. The library will also be open for some extra lunch times this week so students can spend time with a good book.

There is a Book Week Character Hunt set up around the school.  Each class will be encouraged to find all the favourite book characters that are on display and to name the book or series they come from. Which classes will find them all?

Be inspired by Book Week and grab a book to read this week!
