Hi all

Last Monday, our girls T-ball team traveled to Mornington Baseball Club for the South Metro Region Finals.  In the lead up to the event, they trained in the hall most mornings hitting tennis balls from the tee.  On Wednesday mornings they trained on the oval to improve their glove craft as well as their base running.  They were as prepared as they could be.  I hate to admit this,  but some of them weren’t the sportiest kids going around!  But they willed themselves to improved and improve they did.  They deserved their spot at this level.

They won both of their preliminary games comfortably and made it through to the grand final.  They played Overport Primary School for the chance to represent the region at the Victorian State finals in September.  St Louis were very competitive but eventually lost 14-7.  Well done to all of the girls involved. The way you supported each other was a joy to see.  We are all so very proud of the level you achieved this year.

Thank you to the parents who got the girls to and from Mornington as well as getting the team to school early for the extra training sessions.  Thank you to the Webster family for organising the amazing  caps - the girls loved them and they are a great memento for the season.  Thank you to Mr Carnegie for teaching the correct throwing and catching techniques on those cold and wet mornings.

Thank you to Mrs. O’Brien who organised the extra training and the match day coaching.  Your support and the belief you instilled in that team was immense.  In fact, the “village” of adults that backed this team in was integral to why they got as far as they did and made it one of the highlights of the St. Louis sporting year.
