Creativity takes courage....Henri Matisse

Hello RHPS Artists,

Term 3 was wonderful, watching each year level use their imagination to create fabulous pieces of artwork.

Each student learnt new skills which developed their fine motor skills, drawing, painting and making skills and also their general social skills. There was a lot of sharing, listening and following directions in the art room and we were able to try many different projects because RHPS artists do these so well.

The Prep students finished off their term by celebrating international Dot Day. This was inspired by Peter. H. Reynold’s story The Dot. A beautiful story about creativity. Each prep artist used pastels and watercolour paints to create a dot inspired art piece. On the back of these masterpieces is a certificate for their participation.

The Grade 1/2s worked extremely hard to complete their astronaut self-portraits and aliens. They used, textas, pencils and paint pens to enhance their drawing skills. They look awesome and will be unveiled at our end of year art show.

Our Grade 3/4s made their book winged characters and these will also feature in our art show. The creativity of these creatures is very clever and they are brightening up the art room and getting lots of positive comments from our students.

The Grade 5/6s need to be commended on their hard work last term. Our photography unit was a huge success, with lots of team work and brilliant ideas caught on the iPads. This term our senior students will begin self- portraits, Legacy projects and a few other special tasks along the way.

Have a wonderful week and keep creating!
