Youth Steering Committee Consultation
The Australian Government is engaging with young people on issues that matter most to them. One way they are doing this is through a Youth Steering Committee, that works with the Office for Youth. The Youth Steering Committee has 15 young people aged 13–24. They represent the diversity of young Australians.
The Friends’ School is fortunate to have a student on the Australian Government’s Youth Steering Committee. Year 10 student Isabel Adams is a representative on this committee and is assisting to run consultations to hear young people’s voices on the government’s proposed Youth Engagement Strategy.
The Hobart consultations will be held this evening - Thursday 17 August from 4:30-6:00pm - at The Old Woolstore at 1 Macquarie Street. This consultation is open to anyone aged 12-25. Students are invited to attend and can RSVP, or ask more questions, by email. Students are also invited to fill in a survey at bit.ly/ofy-survey. For more information, please visit https://www.youth.gov.au/get-involved.
If you have any queries, please don’t hesitate to contact Director of Community Engagement Bill Avery who will liaise with Isabel.
