Community Library

Last year, the Year 6 Community Action Team embarked on a project to create a free community library. Toby Fitzjohn was an active member of this team (Year 6 student 2023) and was captivated by this project. He took it upon himself to lead the design, creation and build of the library with his step-dad Paul Zavalis. They worked together to build the library in their own time. They resourced the materials for the community library and installed it on school grounds in the last week of Term 4 2023.

This library is a legacy which Toby and Paul will leave at Murrumbeena Primary School for many years to come and provide thousands of students with access to free books. This initiative aims to enhance the love of reading in our students at home and during play times.

We can’t thank you enough for your hard-work and kindness in making and donating this gift to the school. Thank you Paul and Toby.

Parents, please feel free to pop in a book or two in the library to get it started; the library is located in the SAKG garden area near the hall.
