The sound of students in the school yard is a wonderful welcome to the 2024 school year. On Wednesday we welcomed 119 new Year 7 students with our Year 12s and then all Year 8 to 11 students yesterday. We also welcomed the new staff at our assembly on Thursday. It is great to have these wonderful people in our community: Tiffany Bennett (LSO), Samantha Cordingley (Maths/Science), Tessa DeMaria (Health/PE/English), Danielle McClelland (Canteen), Fiona McGovern (Commerce/Maths), Jimmy McGovern (English/RE), Alannah Robinson-Hore (Science/Health/PE), Jacinta Sherlock (LSO), Aaron Spong (LSO), Amanda Stanton (LSO), Tony Whiting (Arts/Technology/RE).
It was fantastic to see the students wearing the new uniform this week. They all looked great. We are aware that the stock of socks is on backorder at Clarks. Thank you to the students who found appropriate alternatives until the new stock arrives. If you need support acquiring new uniform items, please make contact with your relevant House Leader or Mandy McCallum, Director of Wellbeing.
I would like to acknowledge and congratulate Charlotte Angus, as the dux of our school in 2023 with an outstanding ATAR result of 94.05.
I also congratulate William Gilchrist on a perfect score of 50 for General Mathematics.
Congratulations also to the following students who achieved a study score result of 40 or more for a Unit 3 & 4 subject in 2023. Achieving a score over 40 is very difficult and these students should be very proud of their efforts:

We have many community events coming up including the Annual Swimming Carnival on Tuesday 13th February and the Beginning of Year Mass on Friday 16th February. All school days are important and all students are expected to attend every day. Please encourage your child to attend all events, as this is where we build community and our sense of belonging.
