Italy Tour 2024
On Thursday the 22nd of February, the Study Tour group heading off to Italy later in March held a fundraiser for the custom jackets we are getting to wear whilst in Italy. We sold gelato in the courtyard of the school to all the students and teachers on a very hot 38-degree day. It was a great success, and you could tell everyone was happy to eat a cool treat at recess and lunch time. Everyone in the tour group contributed in some way, whether that was serving gelato, taking payments, helping to set up and pack up and running to and from the staff room freezer to get more gelato, because we went through so many tubs of it. The courtyard was filled with students and teachers lining up and even coming back for seconds! Thank you to everyone in the tour group that helped and to Cinzia and Barbara for running the day to be such a success.

Pompeii is a wonderful place. Full of great scenery and wonderful experiences but its history is what makes it so great. This is where Mount Vesuvius lays, After the Volcano eruption in August the 24th in. 79 AD, that erupted that made an ash cloud that covered Pompeii, Herculaneum, and Torre Annunziata and its people, along with destroying the great city. Left in ruins it was discovered again in 1748 by De Alcubierre. They discovered the name of the town, and it was named Rei Publicae Pompeianorum.
