Sport /Art

Just like that, we are at the end of Term 3! What a busy one in P.E and Art.

Junior students had their first attempt at participating in keepings off, a game which the Senior students are very proficient at and had them practising skills of dribbling under pressure and looking for open team mates to pass it to.

Senior Students continued practising the Argentina passing, Bulldog rebounding and 1 on 2 full court drills in preparation for Hoop Time.

In Art, Junior students had their first exposure to voice acting, creating their own comics and using an iPad to film them with a voice over done by them.

Senior students have created some artworks using some of Mr Barker’s old “seeds” from Writer’s Workshop for inspiration and made a PowerPoint describing the inspiration they got for completing them.

Hoop Time Report

On Tuesday the 9th of September and Friday the 12th of September, Mr Barker, Leanne, Mrs G and Ash took some groups of enthusiastic students to HILAC to participate in Hoop Time.

Our Grade 3/4 Future Stars team won their first game 8 – 7, with a close loss in the next game 6 – 8, and losing their last game 2 – 8. Each student gave it their all, with plenty of resilience shown by running up and down the court and respect shown to their opposition teams.

Our Grade 5/6 Future Stars team: The George Street Giants played hard all day, narrowly missing out on qualifying for the finals. With a record of 2 wins, a draw and a loss. Our other Future Stars team The George Street Gators and Rookie team The George Street Grizzlies played hard as well. Despite not walking away with any wins, they showed some great team work and passages of play; Grabbing plenty of rebounds, making smart passes and not being afraid to take the game on. A big thank you to Anthony McFarlane and Annette Bloomfield for scoring for us and all the parents and guardians who came up to watch.
