This is what Sid had to say about the competition, “I really enjoyed the experience.  I was very surprised I made it so far.  I would recommend this competition to any year 7 and 8 students who enjoy spelling and learning new words. PROJECT ROCKIT CONNECT WORKSHOP

Our year 7’s were treated to a wonderful workshop from Project Rockit.

Last week, we attended Project Rockit; an interactive show to help us understand our digital footprint and how it affects us. Unlike most lectures, Project Rockit was interactive, allowing many students (including me) to display the threats, allowing the audience to understand how dangerous it is when anonymous people threaten students. With Project Rockit, we have learnt valuable insights about the real world. Thank you, Project Rockit, for enabling our digital minds to awaken and make us realize the dangers of the digital world.

Project Rockit’s National Youth Collective

Vermont Secondary College has a long association with Project Rockit, four of our students are part of their National Youth Collective.

Together have been producing some impressive work.

Being a part of Project Rockit’s National Youth Collective has been a huge journey filled with growth and positive experiences that have and will continue to shape me as an individual. Through the work I do here, I’ve discovered more about myself, but more importantly, I’ve learnt so much about the world I live in, and how being a young person with a voice gives me the ability to go out there and make a change. The kind of work we do in the Collective cannot be defined by a few words; it’s a whole collection of experiences that have made a big difference. From tackling issues like hate on the internet to creating content that’s meant to help primary school students transition smoothly to high school, these projects reflect the organization’s commitment to supporting and empowering young people, shaping the world they live in. Initiatives like these help build confidence, awareness, and a sense of belonging. Being part of the collective has not only allowed me to contribute to meaningful projects but has also shown me the value of teamwork, empathy, and community. Working alongside passionate youth and mentors, I’ve seen firsthand how collective effort can make a real difference—and I’m excited to keep learning, growing, and creating change.   Jovia J
