From the Principal

The Safe Migration Project

The Traffic Accident Commission (TAC) have launched a Safe Migration Project. This initiative is aimed at helping parents and carers establish safe travel habits with their children from the very beginning of primary school.  Although this is directed to families as they commence primary school, we believe it is a great resource for all our families.

Please see the links below to a short video and fact sheet about travelling to and from school safely.  They are both excellent resources.

We really encourage all parents to access this information.  Unfortunately, we regularly see many instances of unsafe driving and parking from some of our parents and carers.  As we always say, it is all our responsibility to keep our students safe.

International Competitions and Assessments for Schools (ICAS)

Over the last few weeks our Year 3-6 students have been involved in ICAS assessments.

ICAS is a historic academic competition that has been sat by over 10 million school students from 16,000 schools across 41 countries since 1981. It tests academic performance with engaging, fun questions designed to test students’ higher-order thinking skills.

Our students were invited to participate in the Writing, English, Science and Mathematics tests. Each assessment celebrates students’ accomplishments by providing opportunities for recognition and development. Every student who participated will receive a printed certificate and an online results report. Well done to all those who participated and to Linda Bett for organising ICAS and to the staff who helped administer the assessments on the day.
