Australian Teacher’s Aide Appreciation Week
This week we celebrate Australian Teacher Aide Appreciation Week, a chance for schools across Australia to recognise the vital role Teacher Aides play in supporting students, teachers, and inclusive classrooms. At St. Peter’s, we have a range of activities planned to acknowledge our incredible Education Support Officers (ESOs). Last week at assembly, students were encouraged to say thank you to the ESOs in their classrooms and to reflect on the impact those words can have. On behalf of the whole school, we extend our heartfelt thanks to our ESOs – St. Peter’s would not function nearly as well without your dedication and care.
Working Bee – Sunday 14th September
Mark your calendars! Our next Working Bee will take place on Sunday 14th September from 9:30am – 11:00am. We invite members of our community to come along and give a little time to help improve our school grounds. Every bit of help is appreciated!
ORIMA Survey – CES School Engagement Surveys
Catholic Education Sandhurst Ltd (CESL) conducts an annual process for feedback called the Catholic Education Sandhurst School Engagement Surveys (CESSES). Thank you to all families who attended the morning tea after the Book Week Parade and took the time to complete the survey. We still have 12 surveys to hand out to anyone interested, and there are prizes to be drawn at the end of the week for those who have completed them. Stay tuned!
Father’s Day Breakfast – Friday 5th September
We are excited to host our annual Father’s Day Breakfast this Friday, 5th September. Join us for bacon & egg rolls, with a coffee van available for adults. Hot chocolate will also be on offer for students in Djak Tjarra. We look forward to seeing families come together for this special event.
Health and Illness Update
Over the past two weeks, we have had a number of students and staff unwell. As always, the health and wellbeing of our community is our priority. We would like to note that some cases of Influenza A and COVID-19 have been identified.
We kindly ask that if your child is experiencing any flu-like symptoms—such as fever, cough, sore throat, or fatigue—they remain at home until they are well. This helps to protect the health of all students and staff and prevents the spread of illness throughout our school community.
Carpark Safety
We are aware that our carpark can become congested, especially at pick-up time. Please exercise caution and be aware of your surroundings when using the Kiss & Drop Zone or parking your vehicle. We plan to repaint any faded lines and continue to manage traffic flow safely. Your patience and care help keep everyone safe.
A Moment in Prayer
This week, we pray for mental health and wellbeing:
Heavenly Father,
We ask for your guidance and support as we focus on the wellbeing of ourselves and those around us.
Help us to be kind, understanding, and compassionate.
Give us the courage to reach out for help when we need it and the wisdom to support others in their times of need.
May our school community be a place of care, respect, and hope.
Amen.
God Bless,
