Challenging Maths with James Russo

S4 were lucky enough to work with maths guru James Russo. They participated in some challenging tasks that encouraged students to apply their maths skills to real-world contexts. Students explored problem-solving strategies, worked collaboratively, and had the opportunity to think critically about how maths is used in everyday situations. The session also inspired students to see the relevance of mathematical concepts beyond the classroom and boosted their confidence in tackling complex problems.

Special Guest - Joe McCracken

Joe McCracken visited our school last Monday to speak to the children about Australia’s government and the democratic system. During his visit, he explained his role as a Member of Parliament (MP) and how he represents the views and needs of the community in creating laws. Students learned how important it is for citizens to have a voice in decisions that affect their lives, and how democracy allows everyone to participate in shaping their country.

The session included opportunities for students to ask questions about how laws are made, the responsibilities of an MP, and what it takes to be involved in government. It was an engaging and informative experience that helped students connect their classroom learning to real-world politics.
