Dear Parents and Friends,
Welcome back. I hope you all had an amazing break and spent time with family and friends. Our children have had some wonderful experiences these holidays. Some have travelled and explored Europe and Vietnam, while others spent time travelling our wonderful country. Whatever you did, I hope you enjoyed the time together as a family and spent some time resting and relaxing.
As with all terms we are in for another busy one, with lots of events happening. Starting with our Art Show which occurred last night!
Please make sure you read all notes from us to make sure you are up to date. The platforms we use are Audiri ( for reminders and day to day events that occur), Operoo (for permission forms and medical information) and emails.
If you do not have Audiri as an App on your phone I highly recommend that you upload it as soon as possible. If you do not know how, please come and see Tracey in the office and she will happily help you!
What a creative group of students (and teachers) we have at St Brigids!
They have been very busy during their art lessons this year getting ready for our Bi-Annaul Art Show. I have to say the work they have produced is spectacular! One of our students told me this morning that Mrs Kimball oversaw the production of 684 works of art!!!! That is incredible. A HUGE thank you to Sarah for all her hard work in organising the art work, including the Staff pieces. Mrs Kimball had tears in her eyes this morning, when a gorgeous year 3 student came up and said to her "last night was beautiful, you did such a great job"!
Thank you to Sigi for helping Sarah in art classes whenever needed and for helping to display the art work.
Our classroom teachers were also busy last term creating our Class Silent Art Auction pieces. I'm sure you will all agree that they are amazing.
Bidding is now underway and families an opportunity to take one of these magnificent art pieces home. Our silent auction is being run on the "AirActioneer" platform. Click here for the link to place your bid. Bidding will close at 2pm next Thursday -17 October. All funds raised will be put towards reguvenating our tired looking library! Watch this space!!
Thank you to everyone who supported us on the night which made our Art Show such a successful gathering of our community.
Finally, the sun is starting to come out and warm us up from the cold winter. This term full summer uniform is to be worn including hats. Our policy is No Hats No Play, which means if a student does not have a school hat they must play under the verandahs. Sports shoes are only to be worn on PE days, unless a note goes home asking children to wear their sports uniform due to an event occurring.
Please remember our school uniform policy includes hair (no extreme hair styles eg shaved sides and if below the collar it must be tied up), jewellery (only studs in ears and a necklace with a cross or religious symbol) and clear nail polish only.
We do have hats for sale in the office. Hats are $19.95 - cash or order via CdfPay.
Our Reconciliation Sacramental started last term with our Family Activity Night. Next Monday sees our Year 3’s come together for a reflection afternoon followed by the Sacrament of Reconciliation on Friday 25th October at St Brigid’s Church. We wish all our Year 3 Reconciliation Candidates prayers and blessings for their Reconciliation.
We are still on the way to Sydney - make you come along and help us reach Sydney before the end of the year!
This Term for Running Club we are doubling the Kilometers we do each week.

We have 321.9 kms to go - lets get to Sydney before the end of the year!
Due to work commitments our “SB Squad” fundraising group are not going to be able to continue on with the fundraising role next year. Schools cannot manage these events without the support of parents to help organise and run these events. It would be great to have a group of parents who would be willing to take on our Social and Fundraising role.
The fundraising/social activities that we do as a whole school are:
Please come and see me if you would like to take on this role or get some more information.
We have some very excited junior students who are heading to Scienceworks on Monday to start their Term 4 inquiry on Day/Night and the seasons.

Any profit the students make will be donated to the charity of our choice- COTS (Christmas on the Streets).

At the Market, they will be able to purchase items or experiences ranging from $1.00 to $7.00 (multiple items in a pack). Items for purchase include slime, cushions and candles just to name a few. Our transition to school program for our Foundation 2025 Families begins next week with our Parent Information Night on Wednesday 16 October at 7pm in Brigid Hall. We look forward to welcoming our new and current families to this Parent only event. We hope that we have at least one parent from each family present.
