Engaging in our Faith

Why Engagement is not Involvement

Engaging in our school is very different to being involved. It is about being interested in what sort of children we want to bring up, what sort of parents we want to be and who we are as people rather than what skills we may have to offer. It is about being part of a community no matter our faith, our race or how long we have been in the school.  I invite you to "come as you are" to the following initiatives if you can....

Reading for Weekend Mass.

If you or your child are Catholic and are interested in being readers together as a family, then please email youth@lindfieldkillara.org.au. It is always great for parents to role model reading and celebrate together.

Sacramental "Gifts of Love"

If you are a parent of a candidate for First Eucharist why not paint a cross for your child and amaze them with your love? No artistic talent needed as I provide lots of guidance and tracing options!!

When? Saturday October 26th from 3-5pm in the school library. To register please email me asap as I am getting the crosses specially made.

SPAR stands for Stop. Pray. And. Reflect

Next SPAR: 15 November in the prayer room at school at 8.45 am - a time for parents to stop, breathe and do some form of simple prayer before work starts. It only goes for half an hour and coffee is always an option afterwards. If you would like me to offer a nighttime teams version of SPAR as well, please email me on anne.gray1@dbb.catholic.edu.au

Socktober - let's sock it to Poverty.

Socktober is an event that helps support all different countries in the world. This year they are supporting Mongolia with their Caring Centre. I can help Mongolia's children by bringing in a donation for the children. $5 might sound like a little bit of money, but together we can all make a big difference. We can also help by wearing sensational socks and playing soccer. We do this because we want to follow in Jesus' footsteps and do what he wanted us to do, making a better world for everyone! Ashlyn - Year 3

WE SOCKED IT TO POVERTY ON FRIDAY, 18 OCTOBER!

All students and staff at Holy Family Catholic Primary School followed our Heads, Hearts and Hands to make a difference. We joined Catholic Mission in their Socktober program by wearing sensational socks to school and bringing in a monetary donation.

Thank you to you all for your generosity!

Head: We will expand our students' understanding of global issues by immersing them in the reality of children in developing countries.

Heart: We will inspire love and compassion in students through storytelling and formation activities that connect them with the people we support.

Hands: We will encourage students to take action by praying, advocating, and providing financial support to children in need to make a real impact.

Thank you for your continued support in building the Kingdom of God at Holy Family.

Kind regards

Liana Stella
