Tag Rugby Carnival
On Friday of week 9, the year 5/6 students participated in a tag rugby carnival run by the NRL at Para Hills West Soccer Club.
We brought three girls teams and three boys teams. We all played 6 games and we were all very successful. Chloe and I loved it and we think all the students did too. It was so much fun playing in the rain and spending a day playing tag rugby, it was awesome, we would definitely do it again. We learnt the importance of playing as a team as the game could not be played if we did not use it, and sportsmanship because that was the main goal of the carnival. The specialist tag rugby girls team won all of their games and all the other teams won most of their games as a team. Our school won two trophies for the girls and boys. All the teams showed great sportsmanship and all the values and expectations throughout the day.
We would like to thank the NRL for coming and hosting this carnival. A big thank you to Brayden for coaching the two specialist teams and Mrs Robinson, Miss Howie, Jesse and the parent volunteers for coaching the teams and helping out with the carnival. Thanks also to the spectators watching us play and enjoy ourselves, we appreciate all of your support.

Hot Shots Tennis Carnival
On the 17th of September, year 3 and 4 students attended the Hot Shots Tennis Carnival. We travelled by bus to Golden Grove Tennis Club. There were 3 other schools at the carnival.
We played 4 rounds of tennis coming to a total of 8 games. The games were competitive, but they were also very fun. We felt nervous and happy at the same time while playing. The games were fun especially when we scored a point. We all learnt that the ball had to bounce on your side before you hit it with the racket and the same for the other team. We also learnt that you had to stand behind the back line while you served. It was a very fun day even if you lost a game.
We'd like to thank the parent volunteers, the teachers, especially Mrs Robinson, the employees and the canteen for letting us buy food and drinks. A special congratulations to Maddalin from 401 and Taylor from 405 for winning the sportsmanship awards for GPS.
