The Buzz about Bees - Science Poster Competition
In week 7, students from years 1 to 6 were invited to participate in our Science Poster Competition, centered around the fascinating topic of bees!
The challenge is for students to create informative and creative posters covering the following key aspects:
- Why Bees Are Important
- Pollination: Explain how bees help with pollination and why this is essential for the environment and our food supply.
- Food Supply: Highlight the role of bees in producing the food we eat.
- Ways to Protect and Help Bees Thrive
- Bee-Friendly Actions: List practical steps people can take to support bees, such as planting bee-friendly flowers, avoiding pesticides, and supporting local beekeepers.
- Why Are Bees in Trouble?
- Challenges: Focus on the challenges that bees face, including habitat loss, pesticide use, and climate change.
- Buzzing with Fun Facts!
- Interesting Facts: Share surprising and engaging facts about bees, such as how they communicate and the different types of bees.
Poster Specifications:
- Format: Students may choose to complete their poster by hand or design it on the computer and print it.
- Submission Deadline: Posters must be submitted by the end of week 1, term 4.
Prizes: To celebrate the students' hard work and creativity, we will award science prizes to the top three posters.
This competition offers a fantastic chance for students to delve into the world of bees and share their newfound knowledge in a creative way. We look forward to seeing a diverse range of imaginative and informative posters!
