Principal's Report

Rohan Cooper

Welcome to our first newsletter for Term 4. I hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable school holiday period and is rested and ready for a busy Term 4.

School Vision – Achieving Together

Alongside our new ‘PRIDE’ values, we have developed a new vision for the school, ‘Achieving Together’. This vision will guide us to always do our best, and to do our best in collaboration with our peers. We will celebrate how we are Achieving Together across this term and please, like we did with our values, reach out to me either on the gates or directly via email, if you have seen members of our school achieving something special together!

DE School Review

We begin our DE School Review next week, led by Jane Warren, school reviewer for Valad Solutions, alongside DE Senior Education Instruction Leader, Kevin Murphy, and our ‘challenge partners’, Angela Dawson (Principal of Valkstone Primary School) and Jimmy Marnell (Inclusion Outreach Coach, DE). The review panel will meet with school leaders, staff and students as a part of this process, as well as observing lessons in classrooms across the school. The panel would also like to invite parents to attend a focus group session:

What: School Review Parent Focus Group

Where: School Hall

When: Wednesday 16th October @ 9:00am (tea, coffee and light refreshments provided).

How to Book: Ensure you book tickets through ‘Compass Tix’ (link here).

2025 Planning

We continue to develop our planning for the 2025 school year. Please note the following:

  • If you have a child starting Prep, or know of a family intending to enrol across any grade at our school, please ensure you contact our office (link here) to begin the enrolment process as soon as possible.
  • If you have a child/ren intending to attend another school in 2025, please inform our office immediately via email. This information is critical for 2025 workforce planning.
  • On the following page of this newsletter, the student class placement process has been outlined. This follows a very similar process to last year. Please ensure you read this process carefully and reach out directly to Georgia or myself if you have any questions.

Major Fundraiser for 2024

At an assembly on Monday, we launched our major fundraiser for 2024, a ‘splash and dash colour run’. All funds raised from this event will go towards building a new senior playground. Please make sure you log on to the school fun run site, help your child/ren to setup an account and they can begin to raise money for the event.

Working Bee – Save the Date

We will be holding a working bee on Saturday 26th October from 9:00am until 1:00pm. Further information will be shared shortly via Compass.

Thanks for your ongoing support and keep doing your best.
