Our Athletics Superstars Shine at the Victorian State Championships!

On Monday, 16th September, two of our outstanding athletes, Josephine Ho (5A) and Ryder Cardamone (4D), proudly represented Our Lady's Primary School at the Victorian State Athletics Championships. Both students gave incredible performances and achieved amazing results!

 

Josephine competed fiercely, placing 5th in the 1500m, 6th in the 800m, and 5th in Shot Put—an impressive display of her versatility and talent. Meanwhile, Ryder earned a spot on the podium, securing 2nd place in Shot Put and 4th place in Discus. His 2nd place finish in Shot Put qualifies him to compete at the Australian National Athletics Championships in Sydney!

 

These achievements are a testament to their hard work, dedication, and passion for athletics. We are incredibly proud of both Josephine and Ryder, and we wish Ryder the best of luck as he prepares for the National Championships in the coming months. Well done, superstars!

 

Ryder Cardamone: Our National Athletics Hopeful

At just 9 years old, Ryder Cardamone from 4D has already made a name for himself as one of Our Lady's Primary School's most promising young athletes. His performance at the Victorian State Athletics Championships on Monday, 16th September, was nothing short of outstanding, and it has earned him a place on the national stage.

 

Ryder's journey to the State Championships has been marked by determination, hard work, and a relentless drive to improve. Competing in both Shot Put and Discus, Ryder showcased his talent and dedication. In Shot Put, he delivered a remarkable throw, earning him an impressive 2nd place finish and a coveted spot at the Australian National Athletics Championships in Sydney. To add to this achievement, he also placed 4th in Discus, proving that he is not only a specialist in one event but an all-around talent in field events.

 

Qualifying for the National Championships is no small feat, and it speaks volumes about Ryder's commitment to his training. He has consistently shown resilience and focus, always striving to push his personal bests.

 

With the Australian National Athletics Championships just a few months away, Ryder is preparing to face the best young athletes from across the country. While the competition will be fierce, we have no doubt that Ryder will give his all and represent our school and the state with pride. His success is a testament to what can be achieved through dedication, and he is an inspiration to his peers.
