Mini Vinnies

Over the last month, our beautiful St Brigid's community have banded together, united with the goal of caring for those less fortunate than ourselves who need a helping hand and a loving thought.

Whether it was our Mini Vinnies coordinating our donation drive, holding a hot chocolate stall to raise money to go shopping to purchase additional items required to make up our 20 packs, our loving families and parishioners who so generously donated needed items and bought a hot chocolate, or our Year six students who put together our "Rough Sleep Packs" and also made bracelets and hearts to include and bring a smile to the recipients, we are so very grateful. This has truly been a united St. B's community effort. The delivery of our packs to St Vincent De Paul's City Soup Van warehouse highlighted just how valued and needed these packs truly are. Whilst it was heartbreaking to tour their kitchen and facility and to hear about the extent of people throughout Victoria who need this helping hand and the support of St Vincent De Paul on a daily basis, it was nice to know our efforts, small in the scheme of their work, would enable their "good works" and help people in need. So a massive thank you to all of you who helped us live out our Catholic faith and values in this very tangible way.

First Eucharist

Our community would like to congratulate our First Communicants who celebrated this special Sacrament last weekend or are celebrating this coming Saturday or Sunday. We know you are going to take this new element of your Catholic faith and use it as spiritual nourishment for your life's journey. We pray that you take the deep connection to Jesus that is Eucharist and let it remind you to Live as Jesus lived, Love as Jesus Loved and Serve as Jesus Served with kindness, love, inclusivity, compassion, understanding and genuine care.

We were very proud of our students who so reverently participated in this experience joined by students from both Holy Cross and our parish catechist program. Thank you to our families who prepared, supported and celebrated this celebration so lovingly.

We extend our gratitude to Father Vincent, Tammie and the Parish Community for embracing our communicants and their families, to Annie, Michelle, Luke and Jess who prepared the students for their sacrament and to Vicki Firman from the parish, who helped prepare the Catechist students. Thank you to both our staff and Holy Cross staff who attended the ceremonies and helped support our students on their special day.

Congratulations to our First Communicants.
