Student Wellbeing

As we are in the last week of Term 3 it is hard to believe that, we have only 100 days until Christmas. It is so true to say how quickly time flies. The spring blossom and hay fever are very real, as each day gets a little lighter and brighter.

Celebration of our School Production

In the first week of September, we were able to see the amazing work our staff and students in the Performing arts area could produce when Matilda Jnr came to life.

It was an amazing two matinees to our feeder schools, two nights and Saturday matinee that allowed so many students to shine and share their talents with the community and the level of collaboration and teamwork amongst the cast was so evident in their performances.

We commend the amazing Matilda teaching team of Mhairi, Mari, Rachel, Belinda, Adele and Ashley and all of the extra staff who contributed in some way to making the performances possible.

We also had a large number of students who assisted in different roles such as our student leaders who greeted and ushered families into the auditorium.

It was such a celebration of what can be achieved with hard work and ongoing dedication to produce a high quality final product.

Well Done to all of those involved you brought Matilda to life.

Bullying and Harassment Survey

Our student leadership team with the assistance of the Year 9/10 computing class have been able to produce a set of questions for our students in relation to Bullying and Harassment in our community and our Computing class have collected the data from our community.

They are now producing the data into graphically information that will be shared with our community at the end of term assembly on Friday.

We look forward to sharing this information with our families in the next edition of the Marian.

Student Leadership Day – Wednesday 18th September

This week we move to the next step in the process of selecting our Student leadership team for 2025 with our Leadership Day that was held at the Kildare Centre in Albert Park.

The students participated in a range of team building activities with each other and worked collaboratively to solve a range of problems.

We look forward now to these students having the opportunity to submit applications for Lamp Bearers at the beginning of Term 4.

The new leaders will be presented to our community on Celebration day on Friday 18th October.

We look forward to keeping you up to date with our progress next term.

Now we need to remind our community of aspects that make our community a better place

Uniform Reminders

As we move towards the start of Term 4, we now return to our summer uniform, which means that students will return to summer dress and blazer or their school pants and short sleeve shirt.

We remind all of our families over the holidays that when students return on the first day of Term 4 that the grooming expectations of false eyelashes, facial piercings or false nails need to be removed before the term begins.

We know that after holidays that many students forgot the school expectations in relation to these grooming components of our uniform policy.

Thank you to all of our families who support our uniform expectations on a daily basis.

We are now only a few days before the end of Term 3.

During the holidays, take some time to do something that allows you to rejuvenate and rest as we head towards the home straight and term 4. This term means exams and step up for 2025 and before we know it, we will be saying goodbye to 2024.

In the meantime, take care of yourself and your loved ones.
