Principal's News

Journeying Together in Christ

Last Friday evening we held the St Luke's Trivia Night. Peter Holland (past parent was the MC and he was there in a 'Flash' (see photos to understand). We thank Raathika Saranathan for coordinating the evening with some great parent helpers. The night raised over $10,000. Funds will go towards a future outdoor sensory area and permanent aluminum seating.

Remembrance Day

This was held last Saturday 11th November. Our school participated at the RSL service in Shepparton. I thank the students for representing our school and Tony McDonald for accompanying them.

Class Allocations 2024

I can announce that Miss Lexi Coomans and Mrs Jess Moodie will be the Foundation teachers in 2024. We cannot confirm at this stage if we will have two or three foundation groups.

We are working through current staffing arrangements for 2024 and the children will meet their teacher on Tuesday 12th December at our whole school orientation.

See attached our Class Allocation Policy

Year 5/6 Excursion to Canberra

By the time you read this, the 5/6 children will be a couple of hours from being home. You can look back at their experience on our Facebook page. They left last Tuesday morning and the few days away have been quite busy. Some of the experiences include:

National Museum & Gallery, AIS Tour, Parliament House, Electoral Commission, Questacon, Museum of Australian Democracy, National Capital Exhibition Centre, Royal Australian Mint, mini golf, Australian War Memorial. We thank the staff and a couple of parents for being with the students.

A full report from Year 5/6 in the next newsletter.

Car park

Safety is the reason for all rules in car parks. PLEASE DO NOT stop on the loop if there are no parks at the office end. Keep moving (see the photo), park near the stadium and walk to collect your child. Please do not stop, open the door and ask your child to quickly get in. At times, parents have used the staff car park and side service road as a pick-up point. This is NOT an option.  Every school has a period of about 15 minutes where it is busy. Please factor this into your day.

Library News:

It's that time of the year where we start to ask students to return ALL library books. We have over 400 books out on loan and last year it took many weeks to get these books back. As of Monday, students will no longer be able to borrow books from the library so that we can begin our return and audit process. Could you please have a good look at home for any books that need to be returned to school

Book Club:

Issue #8 of Scholastic Book Club orders have been sent home with the students this week. Orders close Thursday 30th November. This is the last Edition for the year. There are some wonderful books available, which could be purchased for Christmas presents!

All payments are to be made online via Loop. To make payments, visit scholastic.com.au/LOOP or download the LOOP app. If you require your order as a gift, you can select this option when ordering and it will be held at the office for collection.

If you require assistance with this please let us know so we can help you. Every order earns FREE books and learning resources for our school.

Thank you- Nicole Keenan
