This week in our resilience project we are exploring the healthy mind-body connection. 


VOCABULARY

Mind-Body Connection: The link between our thoughts, feelings, behaviour and their physical symptoms.

 

Mindfulness: Having your mind on what you are doing. Slowing down, taking your time, doing one thing at a time and focusing on what you are doing in a calm way.

 

Yoga: A system for training the mind and the body.


ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

If you have access to the internet, search for “Cosmic Kids Yoga” on a search engine. 

 

Have your child engage in a short kids yoga session. 

 

Have them reflect on how they are feeling in their mind and in their body before, during and after the session and notice if there are any changes.

 

If you don’t have access to the internet, your child might like to try these yoga poses. See if they can hold them for 30 seconds at a time.
