Year 8 Drama - Scripted Children's Theatre Creations

Mrs Farrow’s Year 8 Drama class entertained a Molly’s House young audience with their scripted Children’s Theatre creations.  They used children’s stories as a stimulus to devise original scripts, including audience engagement, song and dance.  The Year 8s had to consider ways of entertaining and engaging the little ones by making masks and props for the audience and inviting children on stage for dancing and singalong.

All the performances were entertaining and so enjoyable for our Molly’s House children. One group’s performance was a Christmas tale of impish elves. A second group captivated the children on a bear hunt looking for honey as they were chased by honey-bee characters. A third group were credible animal characters with an energetic routine that totally immersed the audience in actions. Congratulations 8 Drama!

Year 7 Drama - Fractured Fairytales

Mrs Farrow’s and Ms Conway’s Drama Year 7 classes have performed their Fractured Fairytales for St Anthony’s Year 4 students and Molly’s house this week.  It was exciting performing for a live audience. The students had to consider how to engage a young audience in their performances.

The Year 7s devised their original scripts, modernising traditional well-known fairytales.  Their costumes were colourful and symbolic and props, lights and set were creative. Some groups added song and dance routines that were well choreographed and entertaining.  Congratulations Year 7 Drama.
