Lifesaving Beach Excursion
Our 3-6 students had their excursion at the Port Melbourne beach this week. It was a Life Saving Education Program, which the students hadn’t done at a beach before.
Our grade 5/6’s couldn’t get in to the water due to water pollution, however they performed all the program had to offer on the sand and in the Life Saving Club. Our 3/4’s were able to complete all activities required in the water, with noodles and boogie boards some of the aides that were used.
The Education activities included: rescue strategies, safe boarding, survival strategies, CPR- being an everyday lifesaver and being aware and prepared of dangers in around water.
Both groups got to play many beach games on the sand including, newcomb, baton races, soccer, making sand castles and sand sculptures, collecting shells and many other beach activities.
Thankyou to all the teachers who attend and our fantastic parents- Sally, Lachie, Sarah, Lincoln, Jessica and Stuart who assisted on the day.
Enjoy the water this summer everyone and stay safe around it.
