Year 3 to 6 Swimming Carnival
Welcome back! The 2024 St Patrick's Swimming carnival will take place next Wednesday, 7th February at Mentone Grammar swim centre. All Year 3, 4, 5, and 6 will be taking part. Please make sure they all wear their swimmers underneath their sports uniform and bring their goggles, towel and water bottle. This should be a great morning and be the first carnival of the year to score as many House points as possible ... towards the new House Cup!
Parents are welcome to attend, but be aware that there is limited space, along one side of the pool. Please no parents at the end of the pool and near the edge as staff need to continually move down the side. Please also no videoing or photography of events due to child safety protocols.
Squad Swim Training
If your son/daughter makes the St Patrick's swim squad, training will be at Mentone Swim Centre on the mornings below from 8.00 to 8.30. Please drop them off at 7.45, ready to train and they will be walked back to school by staff. Swimmers who finish in the top 3 in each 50m event at the swimming carnival will be asked to attend.

SSV Sport Nominations

School Sports Victoria Rep Program 2024
As we get closer to the end of the Year, some of you will be aware that students can nominate for School Sports Victoria in a wide range of sports. This is a great opportunity for some of our young sports stars. The closing dates for each sport will be posted on the SSV website (Link below) and this varies, so please keep a check if you are interested
PLEASE NOTE: - In the following sports it is very, very competitive and students need the endorsement of our Principal and myself. In addition the students need to be of a very high level, usually playing in Division 1 is a good guide. These rep trials are not just 'to have a go' unfortunately, and so nominations need to be taken seriously. Please read the following before applying:
In addition the school is only allowed to nominate up to 3 students from these sports, so please let us know if you are thinking of nominating.
