Christmas Fair/Vánoční jarmark

The Christmas Fair is a long held English College tradition. The purpose of the event is to bring people together in the holiday spirit by giving back. This year, the Student Council chose to align the event with the theme of "Earth" by supporting a charity dedicated to the protection of animals.

Organising this event of course had its own challenges, but with the support of the student body, we pulled together a fantastic afternoon. The contributions from tutor groups across all years made for an eventful afternoon filled with ornament-making stations, carnival games, and an abundance of food and drinks. Throughout the afternoon we had two live bands playing and a beautifully decorated space, which added to the Christmas atmosphere. The collaboration of the school community allowed us to raise incredible 7,700 czk for the chosen charity.

We are very proud of our community for taking part in giving back, and couldn’t be happier with the result. Our gratitude goes out to everyone who participated, contributing to the success of this event and embodying the true meaning of the holiday season.

Vánoční jarmark je dlouholetou tradicí naší školy. Účelem akce je sblížit lidi ve svátečním duchu tím, že budou pomáhat ostatním. V letošním roce se studentská rada rozhodla propojit tuto akci s tématem školního roku „Země“ a podpořit charitativní organizaci bojující za ochranu zvířat.

Uspořádání této akce samozřejmě nebylo jednoduché, ale díky podpoře studentů jsme společně prožili fantastické odpoledne. Nabídky jednotlivých tříd ze všech ročníků přispěly k rušnému odpoledni plnému tvorby vánočních dekorací, zdobení cukroví, karnevalových her a hojnosti jídla a pití. Celé odpoledne nám hrály naživo dvě kapely a krásně vyzdobený prostor atria dokresloval vánoční atmosféru. Spolupráce školní komunity nám umožnila vybrat úžasných 7,700 Kč pro zvolenou charitu.

Jsme velmi hrdí na naši komunitu a její podpoře pomoci ostatním a s výsledkem jsme nesmírně spokojeni. Naše poděkování patří všem, kteří se zúčastnili, přispěli k úspěchu této akce a ztělesnili skutečný smysl Vánoc.

Christmas Concert/Vánoční koncert 

The Christmas Concert once again returned to the beautiful venue of the Refectory at the Emmaus Monastery, with an evening of solo, duet and ensemble performances from musicians of the English College. The atmosphere was warm, and attended by parents, teachers and fellow students. A big thank you to Mr Loof for all he did to arrange and direct the programme, which included the newly established choir, and the returning ensemble ECP Strings . Our young musicians performed carols and a wide range of music; along with Christmas poems in both English and Czech. It was great to see such a range of performers from different year groups. The Student Council collection this year was for Medecins sans Frontiers. Warm thanks to all who donated. The amount collected is 6676 czk.

Vánoční koncert se opět vrátil do krásných prostor refektáře Emauzského kláštera, kde proběhl večer sólových, duetových a ansámblových vystoupení hudebníků Anglického gymnázia. Atmosféra byla vřelá a zúčastnili se jí rodiče, učitelé i studenti. Velké poděkování patří panu Loofovi za vše, co udělal pro zajištění a režii programu, který zahrnoval nově založený sbor a obnovený soubor ECP Strings. Naši mladí hudebníci vystupovali s koledami a širokou škálou hudby; spolu s vánočními básněmi v angličtině i češtině. Bylo skvělé vidět takovou škálu účinkujících z různých ročníků. Finanční sbírka studentské rady byla letos pro Lékaře bez hranic. Všem, kteří přispěli, vřele děkujeme. Vybralo se celkem 6676 Kč.
