Old Collegians'

Austin Rapp - Portland Pilots Committed

Mazenod Old Collegian (Class of 2023), Austin Rapp, has announced his commitment to the Portland Pilots. Rapp joins the Pilots after winning an NBL1 South title with the Knox Raiders and a season as a development player for NBL team, South East Melbourne Phoenix.

Congratulations Austin on your magnificent achievement and best of luck for the future to come!

Dr Gregory White (Class of 2013)

The Mazenod Community congratulates Dr Gregory White (Class of 2013) on completing his doctoral studies at Melbourne University, specialising in quantum computing. We wish him every success in his post-doctoral placement in Berlin as he continues to push the boundaries of knowledge, leaving nothing undared.

For those of a technical mind:

“Gregory developed methods to characterise and control complex noise in quantum devices, and implemented them on commercial-grade quantum computers. His methods improve the performance of quantum computers and uncover exotic quantum phenomena, such as temporal entanglement across many times.”

Dr Namik Perera (Class of 2015)

We celebrate and congratulate Dr Namik Perera (Class of 2015), who recently graduated from Medicine at Monash University as the first recipient of the John Gandel Scholarship. Dr Perera demonstrates the best of what Mazenod seeks to promote in all our young men – a drive to achieve, a focus on the community, and a heart for those in need.

Dr Perera certainly lives out St Eugene’s call to be a burning flame.

We pray for every blessing in your medical career.
