Introducing our Assistant Director - Mrs Karen Bloffwitch (Mrs B)

This year Mrs Karen Bloffwitch has been appointed as our Assistant Director.  Karen is well known by the Good Shepherd community as both her children have attended the Primary School, and Karen has been on staff at Curiosity since we launched in 2020.

Karen's love and passion for children is evident in her daily interactions and I am sure you would agree that being greeted by her at the door in the morning is a great way to start the day!  Karen also holds currency in public relations, marketing and communications, and administration alongside her Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care.

Karen is a joyful presence on our team and her attention to detail and systems thinking will strengthen our operations.

Karen's focus at the Centre as Assistant Director will be around:

  1. Daily Operations - absentees.  Please text or call Karen on:  0408 226 664
  2. Fully Booked - including all bookings and changes to Complying Written Agreements
  3. Enrolments - supporting families with processing Complying Written Agreements
  4. Medical Management - collecting medical documentation and medicines from families, and immunisation schedules
  5. Risk & Compliance - reviewing and updating policies and procedures
  6. Acting Director role in Director's absence.  We will notify the community when this occurs throughout the year.

Your child's Lead Educator is responsible for the design and care of your child's 'Living & Learning' at Curiosity and is your first point of contact for any concerns or questions that you may have.  They are all very willing to meet with you face to face, and or reply to your emails or phone calls.

Please be mindful that as we work with young learners, it is not always possible to talk with families at drop off or collection times, however we will endeavor to make time to speak with you.  Conversations that need more time may be best suited to making a time that is mutually convenient.

An email is always a great place to start, so please feel free to save your child's Lead Educators email so you can contact them directly:

Director & Educational Leader

This year, I am excited about taking on the Educational Leader role. Having worked in this role previously and having experience in leading inquiry-based learning throughout ELC - Yr 2, I look forward to continuing to explore how the principles and practices of the Reggio Emilia approach extends to our work at Curiosity.

I will be working closely with Mrs Kate Burton and Mr Tim English (Early Years Learning Enrichment Team) who will support the early years inclusion support interventions at the Centre this year.  Mrs Caitlin Robinson will be working with us in Term 1 before she leaves for maternity leave.

Please contact me directly if you have any inquiries around:

  1.  Allied Health Provider services
  2. Parenting support and workshops
  3. Enrolment information and processes
  4. Families in Action - more information to come on this initiative
