Year One

Year One Autumn Fun!
This week, our Year One students stepped into the beauty of autumn with a fun outdoor language experience.
With crunchy leaves on the ground and a cool breeze in the air, the children explored outside using all five senses. They gathered colourful leaves, red, yellow, and brown, and tossed them into the sky, laughing as the leaves floated back down.
Back in the classroom, students reflected on their experience, brainstorming adjectives to describe what they saw, heard, smelt, felt, and even imagined tasting. Words like crunchy, crisp, colourful, and dewy came to mind.
Each student then wrote a descriptive recount, their writing showed just how magical autumn can be when we take time to notice it. This lesson helped our students grow as writers and observers, and reminded us all of the simple joys of nature.
